This question was posed to me at lunch today. I am neither. I am best practice.

Chapter 2 of The Ultimate Guide to the SDLC, takes a historical look at a dozen of the system development models that evolved over the last half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century. This includes a variety of waterfall and agile models as well as one hybrid and one popular philosophical model. Only one comes close to hitting the nail on the head. That’s the hybrid Incremental Commitment Model proposed by Barry Boehme and Jo Ann Lane. All of the models propose best practices, but all of them fall short in one way or the other. The Ultimate Guide to the SDLC brings the best of the best practices together and blends them into a single adaptable hybrid model that can be used by anyone in any IT organization for any system development project.

What are you? Are you waterfall or are you agile? My hope is that you become best practice.
